Plain Air has been online weekly for a year now. It's time to devote more of my time and energy to watercolor painting. I will contine to produce cartoons on a montly basis, mostly for the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society if the editors will have me. Thank you for your kind comments.
Just an observation... Due to South Bay Artists Cooperative world headquarters (our front bedroom) being occupied by guests from Beijing, I did not have access to the computer where I color and shade the Plain Air inked line drawings. I loaded Inkscape SVG software on my Toshiba laptop and proceeded to complete the cartoon "Drone." While many of the Inkscape functions were the same, several vital features worked entirely differently. I had to "re-learn" the process. Then I made a fatal mistake and allowed Microsoft to upgrade my Windows 10 operating system on the Toshiba. Inkscape has not worked correctly on that computer since.
September 2016. It's hard to believe "Plain Air" has been online since December of last year. The series is still a work in progress as I explore the thought process of "idea drawings" and turn them in to reality with brush pen and Inkscape.
"Plain Air" is in its fourth month. I'm having a great time creating these cartoons about art and artists. When I am famous (very few cartoonists are) you can say you saw it first here. Be sure to check out the previous editions, December 2105, January, February, and March, 2016. Dick
